The no-prep party music quiz

Your guests brought phones. That's the setup.

Songly turns the TV and everyone's phones into a live music quiz. Guests scan, join, and race to answer—no paper sheets, app downloads, or hours spent making questions.

From “what should we do?” to round one

1

Put Songly on screen

Open the host page on a TV or laptop. It becomes the shared game board and plays the music.

2

Let guests scan

A QR code takes every guest directly to the room. They choose a name and use the phone as their controller.

3

Pick the mood

Choose a broad mix, a themed pack, or a custom quiz. Set the round count, press start, and watch rivalries form.

A party game that keeps moving

Nobody has to read out questions, total score sheets, or chase missing pencils. Songly handles the mechanics so the host can play too.

Host tips for a better party quiz

Keep the first game short

Start with five rounds. New arrivals can watch, understand the game, and jump into the rematch.

Choose familiar variety

A broad mix gives everyone a moment of glory. Save the specialist genre pack for the inevitable challenge round.

Make the reveal visible

Face the screen toward the room and turn the volume up enough for conversation to stop when a clip begins.

Party music quiz FAQ

What equipment do I need?

Use one device with a browser and speakers as the host. A TV is ideal, but a laptop works. Every player needs a phone with a web browser.

How much preparation is required?

None for the basic game. Open Songly, share the QR code, choose your settings, and play. Creating a custom quiz is optional.

Can I choose the kind of music?

Yes. Use the built-in pool, choose a themed pack, create your own quiz, or use optional Spotify playlist support.

Do guests need accounts?

No. Guests join with a display name and answer from their phone browser. The standard host flow also works without signup.

The music quiz your party can start right now
